The project

The site of Pinacoteca Comunale di Cesena constitutes the result of the didactic project Ulysees: discovering my town, an initiative which was heartily desired by the Munincipal administration and in particular by the Cunselor responsable for Culture and Education, Prof. Daniele Gualdi.

The project was offered to the secondary schools in Cesena, that, in collaboration local bodies and associations have adopted a city (meseum, building, street, ...).

The work on the Pinacoteca Comunale di Cesena (Cesena's Art Gallery), carried out by Studio Culturale Artemisia together with the students of the Liceo Scientifico A. Righi developed in various stages; guided visits for the benefit of the local population, the making of a CD/ROM regarding the most sugnificant works, and last but not the least, the creation of a Web site.

Didactic objectives

• Bring schools closer to the problems concerning the knowledge and valorization of cultural
• Detailed study of the subjects, history and history of art through the knowledge of the artistic-historic cultural background of the territory concerning Cesena
• Project proposals for an innovative fruition of the works conservated in the art gallery

RESEARCH

The first stage consisted in analizing the works exhibited through:

• In depth guided visits
• Careful reading of the works and statistical survey aided by didactic files prepared by the tutors
• Photographic survey using digital camera

PRODUCTION

During the summer period, in accordance with a programme made up of school and work experience, a small group of students carried out the work necessary to produce material for a Web site:

• Through analysis in the library: bibliographic research on artists and their works
• Editing of italian texts and translation into English
• Photographic processing
