Jole Ambrosioni

Schio (Vicenza), 1885 - Cesena, 1979

The entire production of Jole Ambrosioni is characterised by an intense classicism meant as a timeless, tidy world. The artist's realism is permeated by serene atmospheres, often obtained by using tones of grey. In the works which belong to collection in the States one can see references to Carra's platicism and the paintings change style thanks to brighter and more boched colour obteined by mixing sand with oil.

The works hanging in the Gallery are those exhibited ib the great anthological collection dedicated to painter by the Municipal Council in 1979. Jole Ambrosioni and her two sisters donated the paintings to the Civic Art Gallery and the bequest constitutes a rilevant nucleous of the civic collections.
