Veronesi (Milano, 1908 - 1998)
The painting Costruzione B 5/5, signed and dated 1979, is the fruit of a period in which, having previously approached more organic forms, the artist makes a return to geometric forms.
The lines confer a sensation of movement to the forms, distinctly defined by a stroke, that is both attentive and coloured in tones of pink and red, in contrast to the neutral background carried out in cool whites and greys.
Costruzione KAN 22, signed and dates 1990 was completed in the last years of Veronesi's life and is the testimony of his extreme artistic maturity. Protagonists in the painting are the geometric figures slightly off centre to the right: three parallelograms, in blue, red and yellow, that is the three primary colours, that blending together give birth to secondary colours: purple, green and orange. The final result of all the colours together is a small black rectangle in the centre. The background forms instead have neutral tones.
