Anonymous (copy of Guido Reni) (End of 17th Century - Beginning of 18th Century) - Oil on canvas; cm 318 x 180
Documented in the 18th Century, the painting was carried out by an unknown painter, who made a reproduction of a picture by Guido Reni.
The painting represents the Virgin, who is in the centre. She is seated on a throne and she is wearing a typical dress. The colours are warm and the lines are sinuous. She holds the child Jesus, who is in the act of blessing. There is, to the left, Saint Francis, who is represented with stigmatas and wears a brown cowl, and Saint Anthony, kneeling, like Saint Francis is represented with an open book, and a lily his characteristic. The little friar next to him, may be the person who commissioned the painting.
