Marcello Avenali

Roma, 1912 - 1981

His formative years were spent in and around the Roman School (Scuola Romana), although he soon abbandonated it in favour of abstractism.

The artist, actively many times over in the creation of mural frescoes and public works in glass constantly experimented figurative techniques and languages: for example in the paintings on canvas he often used the stratification of coloured forms, on super imposed levels, in order to obtain refractional effects in the colours.

The first personal exhibition which take place in Roma in 1945 was followed by his participation in the major contemporary art exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
