Osvaldo Piraccini

Osvaldo Piraccini began painting under the expert guidance of Giovanni Cappelli and Alberto Sughi, whi addressed him towards Neo-realist themes.

At the beginning on his caree, his style was characterised by a precocious synthesis of image.

His favourite subjects were the beauty of nature and the feelings this created in the human being deepest soul. Therefore he painted landscapes, in particular views of his hometown and local surroundings, the beloked places of his childohood. In the fifties his work took another direction: he moved first to Florence, then to Rome, when he began a period known as Pittura Grigia (Grey Painting). Later followed by his approach to Informalism. In the seventies helived in Rome and in his return to Cesena he paintedan a style in which the influence could clearly be seen, of the group, defined by Francesco Arcangeli, as the Ultimi Naturalisti (Last Naturalists). This exhibition boyh in Italy and abroad were numerous and obtained a great acclaim.
