Bartolomeo Coda

Rimini, doc. from 1516 to 1563

The son of painter Benedetto Coda, Bartolomeo was educated and then collaborated with his brothers in the paternal studio, which worked actively in the cultural life of Rimini at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th Century.

One can see the great influence, both of his father and other exponents of the classical style typical in Emilia Romagna in that period, from the very first work assigned to him that re-echo a fifteenth century formation as well as the applications of enamelled colours.

As well as the Cristo e l,Adultera, the painting that hangs in the Gallery, in Cesena, there is also an altar piece, together with its original frame, that still today is conserved in its initial setting, it is the Annunciazione (signed and dated in 1543), in the Basilica della Madonna del Monte.
