Bartolomeo Coda (?) (Rimini, doc. from 1516 to 1563) - Tempera on wood; cm 109 x 124
In the work there are three figures: Christ on the left, the adulterer in the centre and an apostle (probably Judas) on the right. The painting evokes a message of compassion and forgiveness.
It is difficult to give a date to the work due to the poor state of conservation, but presumably it could be dated between the fifteen-thirties and fifties.
The painter has paid a lot of detail to dress, for example the accuracy in the hairstyle of the young woman and the clothes worn by the figures depicted.
