Piccola veduta napoletana

Anselmo Gianfanti (Montiano, 1857 - Cesena, 1903) - Oil on wooden panel; cm 33 x 20

The painting dates back to the period in which the artist spent in Naples, at the studio of Domenico Morelli, the master and that is 1880.

he work represents a view of the Napolitan city, seen from above, with buildings and in the background the Vesuvius. The quick strokes and light touches used make colour the protagonist of the scene. In the centre the light yellow colour of the house stands out, illuminated by the sun, it creates a light effect in contrast with the cold colours of the houses in the first ground and the mountain in the distance.

The cloudy sky in the background lakes up once more the light and luminous colours of the buildings.
