Ritratto del cardinale Carlo Bandi

Agostino Plachesi (Cesena, 1725 (?) - 1805) - Oil on canvas; cm 110 x 80

Ritratto del cardinale Carlo Bandi

An early work, dated to the first half of 1700, the painting depicts the cardinal Carlo Bandi as confirms the registration CAROLVS BANDI. He is characterised by the classic clothes he wears.

Plachesi painted the portrait using warm colours; moreover, he signed the work on the letter which the cardinal has in his hands: AGOSTINO PLACHESI DI CESENA: DIPINSE.

The work was carried out in the same mediocre style typical of workshop in Cesena during the 18th century.
