Agostino Plachesi

Cesena, 1725 (?) - 1805

Apprenticed in the local workshop of Francesco Andreini, Plachesi continued that modest language, in various works, which can be considered routine, like the portraits of Cardinal Carlo Bandi and one of the scholar Francesco Fattiboni. On the contrary, in his decoration of the chapel in the Osservanza convent, the artist demonstrated a tendency toward the style of Giuseppe Milani, a painter from the Parma area, who worked successfully in those years in Cesena.
