Agostino Plachesi (Cesena, 1725 (?) - 1805) - Oil on canvas; cm 85 x 65
The work represents Francisco Fattiboni while he is writing a song, the inscription in the book that he holds in his hands CANZONE AMAR TE AL DOLCE SUONO DI MIE CATENE CANTO LE PENE DEL PRIMO AMOR. PER IL SIGNOR C. EGIO. FRA. CO.FATTIBONI VILALTA
, tells us so. In the other hand he holds a pen, his iconographic attribute like the lyre and the ink-stand in the background. Fattiboni belongs to the upperclass and we can be sure about that, because of the clothes he is wearing and because of the ring on his finger. The background represents a naturalistic landscape probably of Cesena.
