Vincenzo Baldacci (Cesena, known from 1802 to 1813) - Oil on canvas; cm 108 x 132
The painting was carried out in the first decade of 19th century by Baldacci.
The person that is represented, is the hero who was injured and then abandoned during the battle on the island of Lemnos.
From the naturalistic background one senses that the scene takes place on that very island characterised by rocks and a maritime landscape.
This artist, who died very young, studied in Accademia di San Luca in Rome and we can see in his works clear references to Giani and Camuccini because he had met them during his trip to the Papal seat, a sojourn paid for by the Municipal body, to whom Baldacci sent this painting, in order to show his progress in his artistic studies.
