Gino Emilio Conti

Barga di Lucca, 1900 - Providence, U.S.A, 1982

The Ital-American artist arrived in Providence (RI) at the age of two. He attended design school in Rhode Island thanks to a scholarship. After getting his degree in 1923, he left for France to study painting.

He also lived in Cesena, with the friars at the Abbey of the Mount until 1936. During that stay he painted two pictures which are on show in the Civic Gallery.

On his return to Providence he got commissions for public projects and also became an art teacher. Much of his work was influenced by religious murales.

Conti had along and affirmed career and became famous both in U.S.A. and Italy
