Costantino Guidi

Cesena, 1832 - 1899

Marquis Costantino Guidi, last heir of an aristocratic Cesena family, was a lover of the arts and dedicated himself to painting after a classical education in Rome and Florence.

Some frescoes he carried out can be seen in the family residence in Cesena, some scenes from the file of San Vincenzo Ferreri in the parish church at Montiano (1866), a pictorial decoration which adorns the interior of the family chapel in the local cemetery (1869) and the large scene with the Protomiracolo del Crocifisso in the Franciscan sanctuary at Longiano (1870).

Two sketches pertaining to episodes in the life of San Vincenzo Ferreri are on show in the Gallery.
